A Note from the Dean
Welcome to Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Reno! We are glad you are here, and we welcome you in the name of Christ. This is the cathedral parish of The Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Nevada, led by our bishop, The Rt. Rev. Elizabeth Bonforte Gardner. At Trinity, our life together is built around our mission to welcome all people to know and live as Christ in the world.
Welcome. In the Episcopal Church we believe that God loves you without exception. God created a beautiful cosmos full of different and amazing things, and we believe humans also reflect God’s creativity in our many differences. No matter where you are from, who you have been created to be, what you have, what you do, or who you love, you are welcome here at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral.
Know Christ. The faith tradition of the Episcopal Church is centered in Scripture, Tradition, and Reason. Our primary books are The Holy Bible and The Book of Common Prayer. We study and use them together in worship, along with study of what the Church has believed through the centuries, to improve our reasoning on how to best follow Jesus.
Live as Christ. You have probably noticed that we have a very beautiful church structure! But the Church is not a building. It is a community of disciples of Jesus who aim to love God and to love their neighbors as themselves. Everyone is called to serve in a rich variety of ways. At Trinity we serve through feeding people with food insecurity, advocacy for those in need, teaching the faith to our children and one another, through serving at our liturgies and worship services, and in generously giving back to God from the gifts God has given us. We are each called by Jesus to do something for the world and one another; how do you like to serve?
If you are new, we’d love to get to know you better and explore how our fellowship Trinity may meet you where you are on your life’s faith journey. If you would like to chat and learn more, please complete the information form on this page, and we will be in touch soon. We look forward to getting to know you. And thank you for being here among us at this amazing cathedral parish.
Peace and All Good,
