Canon for Intergenerational Ministry
Position Description
This is an exciting time at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Reno. We are seeking a full-time priest to join our leadership team, under our new Dean, at the “Biggest Little Cathedral” in the World. We are looking for an energetic, gifted, engaging, and creative priest who will share our ministry with passion and devotion. We seek a person who will bring particular gifts and leadership in faith formation for all ages. We seek someone who will share in the liturgical, pastoral, and administrative ministry of the parish. We seek someone who takes ministry, but not her or himself, too seriously (a sense of humor is essential).
Reno continues to grow and there is great opportunity to build on our already thriving ministry to children, youth, and families and introduce best practices for intergenerational ministry. We seek a priest who is passionate about shaping the faith lives of our parishioners, young and older, and who also demonstrates creativity in inviting new families to join us on the journey of life and faith.
About Trinity Episcopal Cathedral – Reno
Trinity is located on the beautiful River Walk in Reno, Nevada. Founded in 1870, Trinity Cathedral has nearly 800 members and an annual budget of nearly $700,000. Trinity is renowned for its flexible but BCP-centered worship, which seeks to educate and bless both our parishioners and the wider diocese in our Anglican and Episcopal Identity. We have a blossoming music program, faithful and dedicated lay ministers, and a passion for serving others beyond our walls.
For nine months of the year (September – May), we hold four weekend Eucharists (Saturday Vigil at 5pm, 7:30am Rite I Eucharist, 9am Family Eucharist, and 11am Festal Choral Eucharist) along with a monthly service of Choral Evensong. From June through August, we offer Saturday Vigil at 5pm and two Sunday services at 8am (Rite I) and 10 am (Rite II). We offer a healing Eucharist at noon on Wednesdays and the cathedral clergy gather for Morning Prayer every weekday at 9am, our Bishop often joining.
